Newark Athletic Club’s mixed relay team delivered a fantastic performance at the English National Cross Country Relays, finishing an impressive 16th overall in a time of 22:29.
This year marked a special milestone for the championships, with the mixed relay event being introduced for the very first time, giving Newark AC the opportunity to be part of the competition’s history.
William Tucker got the team off to a flying start, completing the opening leg in 4:53 and handing over in 13th position.
Naomi Collier took on the second leg, running 5:53, followed by Ellie Beardsley, who completed the third leg in 6:23.
Robert Lindsay brought the team home with a strong final leg of 5:22, securing an excellent 16th-place finish.
A brilliant team effort and a fantastic result in the inaugural mixed relay event. Well done to all four athletes for representing Newark AC on the national stage!
