We would like to invite you to take part in the well-loved Club Championships event which is making its comeback after a fifteen-year break. This event was hosted and organised by Pete for many years and many club members will remember what a fun annual event it was, and what a remarkable person Pete was. Pete coached many of us, was on the Committee for several years, organised the Club Champs and the AGM, sorted the annual trophies, and basically dabbled in everything he could to help Newark AC flourish. We cannot think of a better way to honour him.

The online entry form is linked at the bottom of this page. Please read through and answer the questions carefully and submit once done. When entering, please enter the age group you currently compete as. E.g., if you are 11 before the 31st of August 2023, you will be an U13 athlete, if you are 13 before the 31st August you will be an U15 athlete and so on.

This is your chance to try out a variety of track and field events in a friendly club environment. For Club Championship rules, to be in with a chance of winning an age group trophy at next year’s Presentation Evening, competitors will be scored for their best performances in a run, jump, and throw event, and must compete in at least one of each to qualify. Of course, you don’t have to do this, we’d like as many of you to come along and enjoy yourself, just remember you won’t be in with a chance of winning that trophy!

Your personal best times will not be uploaded to Power of 10 but will be eligible for Club Records.

We have tried our best to accommodate as many events as possible, so it will be a jam-packed schedule on the day. We are following UKA Rules, so there are limitations for certain age groups, and these are displayed on the entry form after selecting your relevant category. The timetable will be published later and can be subject to change, dependent upon the number of athletes taking part.

U11’s will be automatically entered into the Quadkids event, which consists of a 75m sprint, 600m run, Long Jump, and Howler javelin.

If you have more than one member in your household wishing to compete this year, please submit one entry form per athlete.

Due to a busy day of Track and Field events, we are seeking as much support from athletes, parents, friends, and family members. There are a variety of small roles to volunteer for, and we really need your help to host these Championships successfully. These include track and field judging, timekeeping, raking the sandpit, recording field event results, helping with the registration period, and setting up/packing away equipment on the day.

If you can help at the event in any way or have any further questions, please email Emma at emma@newarkathletics.co.uk
