Notts Mini League Cross Country match 2

Newark Athletic Club’s junior athletes continued their strong start to the Notts Mini League Cross Country series at their home fixture at the Grove, Balderton. A record 40 Athletes braved the cold and wind but despite the weather recorded a number of notable performances. Overall Newark AC finished 3rd.

In the under 11 Girls (1k), Olivia Mathias won convincingly (4.11) followed by Emilia Hill who finished a superb 10th (4.50). Sisters, Molly and Charlotte Ripley finished 12th and 13th (4.52, 4.53) respectively. Keating Walters finished 18th (5.07) Eleanor Miller 25th (5.19) Asia Moody 27th (5.20) Eden Sandy 28th (5.21) and Holly Fender 29th (5.24).

A determined winning team performance from the under 11 Boys (1.5k) saw Christopher Ward bring the boys home finishing 4th (6.38), closely followed by Lewis Hill taking 5th (6.41), Jack Scieba taking 6th (6.49). Luke Willers finished in 10th (7.09) and George Alton 14th (7.15), Cameron Cove 18th (7.42), Jack Satterley 19th (7.44) and Ben Lynch 24th (7.48).

The under 13 girls (2k) fielded a complete team for the first time this season with Charlotte Peach again showing great maturity to take a very strong 6th (9.31) followed by Holly Mammott who again ran a confident race and took 11th (10.22) and debutant Georgia Nickerson 14th (10.28)

In the under 13 Boys (3k) Edward Booth finished 8th (14.19), Jack Fenton 12th (15.23), Alex Davy took 16th (15.38), followed by Henry Ellis in 18th (16.13) with debutants Thomas Hubbard 19th (16.45) and Tyler Ludlam 21st (17.49)    

The under 15 Girls (3k) were again strongly represented with Cloe Hubbard finishing an impressive 6th (14.18), Emma Jessop 10th (15.03) closely followed by Bethany Scotney in 11th (15.05) and Lauren Rowberry in 12th (15.08). Libby Carrington finished in 16th (15.37) with Eleanor Ripley 17th (16.17).   

The under 15 boys (4k) took 1st overall thanks to strong finishes from Linton Taylor who took 2rd (16.30) followed by Aaron Burns in 4th (17.26), Peter Barrie in 11th (18.38), Chris Sanger in 13th  (18.56), John Jessop in 17th (20.02) and Jake Mammott in 18th (20.09).
