Under 11 Regional Sports Hall competition
Seven under 11 athletes from Newark AC were picked to represent Nottinghamshire at the Regional Sportshall competition held in Grantham on 15 November.
Two girls and five boys competed in a variety of team track and field events in this annual competition against four other Counties. Olivia Mathias and Keating Walters were the girls while Ben Lynch, Jack Satterley, Christopher Ward, Oliver Whaley and Luke Willers were the boys. They helped their respective teams to third place in the girls’ competition and second place in the boys – with the boys narrowly losing out to Derbyshire.
Mention should also be made of club members Charlotte and Molly Ripley who were also selected to compete, in their case for Lincolnshire.
It is not many years since the club would only have one or two athletes chosen and so to have so many selected this time is a great compliment to the progress being made and the improvements bought about by our coaches.
