North Midland Cross Country League match 2
Full results will be available shortly.
It was a family affair for Newark AC at the second round of the North Midlands cross country league with a father-son, father-daughter, mother-son, brother-sister and brother-brother combination all
competing for the club. Linton Taylor produced his best run of the season with a fantastic fifth place, biding his time at the back of the leading group before pushing on in the closing stages to pick up several places. Overnight rain and heavy showers throughout the afternoon left some slippery corners on the twisting parkland course, becoming muddier with the progress of the racing program, but, although there were gusting winds at times, the runners avoided the worst of the stormy weather. It was also excellent to have so many parents and coaches supporting the club and it was much appreciated by the athletes, especially the senior men who had to brave three long laps.
