It was an unusually warm day for cross country as Newark AC competed in the first major league race of the season with athletes ranging from thirteen to over sixty. The firm ground provided good fast running conditions over the course at Markeaton Park in Derby. The standout performances in the senior age groups were Rachel McCuaig and Doug Kelley both at the front of their respective fields in highly competitive races. In the junior age groups, meanwhile, there were top twenty finishes from Charlotte Peach and Linton Taylor and Oli Carrington.
