Newark Athletic Club - Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire

Newark Athletic Club is a sports club located in the Nottinghamshire market town of Newark on Trent. We compete in various athletic disciplines including cross country, track & field (indoor & outdoor), road running and sports hall athletics. We are affiliated to The Midland Counties Athletic Association, UK Athletics, The Midland Men’s & Women’s Cross Country & Road Running Association and the Nottinghamshire Amateur Athletic Association.

We are a small, friendly club and we are always on the lookout for new members, so if you want to give athletics a try, no matter at what level please do get in touch.

Newark AC events

Throughout the year Newark AC organise various events including:

  • The Dave Lewis Challenge - Two races held annually over 10.5 miles and 27 miles for charity to commemorate the life of Dave Lewis who was a dedicated Newark athlete and coach.
  • The Newark Half Marathon - One of the most popular road races in the East Midlands, regularly attracts 1000+ entrants. Held in August.
  • Whelbourn Week - A series of summer road and cross country races in and around Newark, with weekly totals being used to determine winners in various age groups.
